MV “Server”- Supreme Court Judgement

Oslo, 22 June 2023:

Our partner Gaute Gjelsten successfully acted on behalf of Gard before the Norwegian Supreme Court.

The Norwegian Supreme Court issued judgment 21 June 2023 in the last case concerning the grounding and wreck removal of the MV "Server". The case concerned the distribution of the limitation fund established in Norway.

The Norwegian Supreme Court rendered judgment in Gard's favor holding that for disbursements incurred after a limitation fund has been established, the currency conversion rate at time of payment shall be used, and not as the Norwegian State claimed, the historical rates that existed when the fund was constituted in 2012.

We are very pleased to announce that Gaute now is admitted to appear before the Norwegian Supreme Court.
