Børge Alsvik

Børge Alsvik has held key positions in private practice as well as public service. He has extensive experience as a lawyer specializing in transport and shipping law litigation, including marine insurance, cover disputes, P&I, LOH, H&M, bills of lading, war risk insurance, cargo claims, cargo insurance, marine incidents, ship arrests, charter party and contract disputes.  His legal practice extends beyond maritime law to encompass cases involving energy claims and Road, Air and Multimodal Transport.

Børge has successfully represented clients in a number of reported cases, including the MV “Gloria Confidence” and the MV “Cheshire”.

Børge has served as acting Judge in the Court of Appeal. 

In the realm of public service, he has been senior legal advisor at the County Governor and legal advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Section for Treaty Law, Environmental Law and the Law of the Seas. 

During his academic pursuits, Børge contributed as a research assistant at the Department of Public and International Law, University of Oslo.
